"Not So Red Rocks" - Red Rocks Park, Morrison, CO - February 2024 - Red Rocks is a wonderful place to enjoy a hike or a show. I've always wanted to photograph the beauty in a snowstorm. So a few friends and our dogs headed out to enjoy a blustery day.
"Harold's Purple Crayon" - Chief & Mestaa'ehehe Mountains (pronounced mess-ta-HAY), Mt. Blue Sky Wilderness, CO - August 2023 - Remnants from tropical storm 'Harold' made it from the Pacific and gave the front range of Colorado some always needed moisture in late August. The following morning high up in the mountains, a surreal scene revealed itself at sunrise.
"It Won't Be Long" - Lake Isabelle, Indian Peaks Wilderness, CO - October 2023 - An alpine lake greets an incredible sunrise after the first snow. The lake knows what's next.
"Then Magic Happens" - Shoshoni Peak, Indian Peaks Wilderness, CO - Another one of those magical moments that you never forget. Clouds engulfed the Indian Peaks just at sunrise and the result was this scene. To really bring the magic, there was a faint ground fog that you can see in the image. It lasted less than a minute, and was absolutely incredible.
"Tucked In" - Navajo & Apache Peaks, Indian Peaks Wilderness, CO - March 2024 - A blanket of clouds settles over the Indian Peaks just before sunrise after a healthy spring snow storm.
"Abandoned" - Yuma Co., CO - June 2023 - Always fun finding abandoned structures while storm chasing on the eastern plains of Colorado. The storm clouds enhance their spookiness.
"Summer Flow" - Geneva Creek, Park Co., CO - July 2023 - Geneva Creek flows through Kirby Gulch as the final light of the day fades. Our campsite was not far from this scene as we spent a wonderful night under the moon and stars.
"Hillside Bouquet" - Crested Butte, CO - July 2023 - Crested Butte is the wildflower capital of Colorado, and in 2023 the show was extra special. Flowers as far as you could see painted this hillside along the trail.
"Alpine at Midnight" - James Peak & Heart Lake, James Peak Wilderness, CO - July 2023 - The Milky Way rises above James Peak in early July.
